Conners Creek Hut is located in the Nelson Lakes National Park area along the Rainbow Road. Its a cute wee hut alongside a stream with a view up the valley. It has 6 bunks and an open fireplace which is quite nice.
It’s also within a short walk (under 15 minutes from the road) so is easily accessible for those who can’t get to our harder to access huts. It’s an easy track in across paddocks on a farm track.
My cousin and I shared this hut with a young couple and their two young children – a good example of a hut been made accessible to those not able to travel too remotely for the NZ hut experience. It’s awesome to get our kids out to experience these places, they are our next generation of hut lovers after all.
